I had a mixed experience at Hotel Alt Montreal. The location was fantastic, making it easy for me to explore nearby attractions like Old Montreal and local cafes. However, I encountered some issues with noise and maintenance during my stay, which impacted my comfort. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating, but there were some service hiccups that affected my overall impression.

The room I stayed in was clean, modern, and spacious. though I noticed a strange smell upon entering. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained, which is important to me.
Service

The staff members were nice and welcoming, making check-in and check-out easy. however, I found it unfortunate that some staff seemed untrained in using the coffee machine, which led to a coffee mishap.
Location

The hotel is situated in a great area, just a 10-minute walk from the Old Port. it made exploring the city super convenient, despite some nearby construction making the walks a bit tricky.
Dining

I enjoyed the convenience of having a Starbucks in the lobby, which was a nice pick-me-up. and there are plenty of options for quick meals and breakfast nearby, including a lovely bakery just around the corner.
Facilities

The facilities were decent. and I appreciated the gym, as it had everything I needed. However, I did notice some maintenance issues like a malfunctioning handheld shower, which should have been addressed.

I had a generally pleasant stay at Hotel Alt Montreal, enjoying its clean and modern environment. The location was fantastic, allowing easy access to both Old Montreal and the picturesque Lachine Canal. However, there were a few minor hiccups, including a broken bathroom door in my room that needed attention, which dampened the overall experience slightly.

Rooms
8.0
The room was clean, well-organized, and modernly designed. I appreciated the high ceilings that made it feel more spacious despite being on the smaller side. The bathroom was particularly impressive with its large glass shower and stylish wood doors.
Service
7.0
The staff were polite and accommodating. I noticed they communicated in both English and French, which added a local touch, but my experience with the front desk regarding a parking issue could have been smoother.

Conveniently located in Griffintown, I found it easy to walk to Old Montreal and the waterfront. The area felt vibrant and local, making it enjoyable to explore.

While I didn't try the hotel restaurants, I had breakfast at La Bête à Pain across the street, which was amazing—definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had.
Facilities

The hotel has excellent amenities including a parking garage with an EV charging station, a gym that I had all to myself, and a welcoming lobby area where I could relax. Unfortunately, the parking experience was a bit confusing.

I had a good stay at Hotel Alt Montreal. The rooms were really clean and modern, making the whole vibe cozy and more like home. But there were some hiccups, like a few maintenance issues in the bathroom and the lack of basic amenities like hooks for towels, which made things a bit awkward. Overall, it was a decent experience, but definitely some room for improvement.

Rooms

My room was bright and spacious, and the design felt fresh. But I did notice the bathroom was lacking some practicality, especially with no place to hang my towels.
Service

The staff were super friendly and helpful, always available to assist. Though, I felt a more personal touch could've come from having a dedicated receptionist.
Location

The hotel is in a great spot, a short walk from Old Montreal and plenty of nice restaurants, but not too far from the busy downtown scene.
Dining

Dining options were convenient and tasty, and there were nice spots for breakfast just a stone's throw away.
Facilities

Facilities were decent with a solid gym, but I missed having some basic amenities stocked regularly in the room, like liquid soap and extra towels.

I had a bit of a mixed experience at Hotel Alt in Montreal. On one hand, the staff was super friendly and the location was great, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. On the other hand, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, and I faced some annoying design quirks that diminished my overall satisfaction.

Rooms
5.0
The room was modern and comfortable, but cleanliness was a big issue with long hairs and dust everywhere. Also, there were no fridges or irons, which felt surprising for the price.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the lack of follow-up on my request for cleaning was disappointing. I felt like my concerns weren't really acknowledged.
Location

The location was awesome, not far from the river and within walking distance to Old Montreal, along with a decent selection of cafes and shops nearby.
Dining

There wasn't a restaurant on-site, but I found a great bakery around the corner for breakfast, which was a nice surprise.
Facilities

Facilities were decent, but I was surprised by the absence of complimentary coffee in the lobby or free snacks, especially considering the nightly rates.

My stay at Hotel Alt Montreal was a mixed experience. While the rooms were beautifully designed and provided excellent comfort, there were several issues that affected my overall satisfaction. I encountered problems with cleanliness, as the bed sheets had stains, and the internet did not function properly during my last day. The location is also a bit of a downside, situated in a still-developing neighborhood which lacks nearby dining options after hours. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential but needs to address some critical details. 🌆🛏️

Rooms
6.0
The room was nicely decorated and spacious, with a modern industrial design, though I noticed that the bed sheets had stains that were concerning. Additionally, there was no temperature control for the fridge, which was at room temperature during my stay. Lighting in the room was dim, making it difficult to get ready, especially near the full-length mirror.
Service
7.0
The staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating. However, I had to request replacement sheets for the stained bedding, which was resolved promptly the next morning. On another occasion, I found the key cards unreliable, which required multiple trips to the lobby to rectify.
Location
6.0
The hotel is located in Griffintown, which feels somewhat run-down and is a bit of a walk from central attractions like Old Montreal. Although there are some emerging dining options within a couple of blocks, after 10 pm, the only available food is a 24-hour McDonald's. It was a $10 Uber ride to get to more popular areas.
Dining
7.0
A nearby bakery offered delectable breakfast options, but I felt that breakfast should have been included in the hotel price. I had to pay extra for what I expected would be a complimentary meal, which was disappointing.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were generally modern, but I did notice some maintenance oversights, like the lack of hooks in the bathroom for towels and clothing. There was also an issue with the handheld shower and low liquid supplies in the bathroom, which needed to be refilled during my stay.
